Interview with CAT Crafter – Kaisha @whimsyhen
Where do you live?: Figtree, New South Wales, Australia
What craft is your therapy?: Crochet all the way! I can’t get enough of it. I also like working with felt and glitter.
How long have you been crafting for?: I’ve been crocheting since 2012, and have loved crafting in general since I was a little girl.
Tea or coffee?: Coffee every morning, and then herbal tea.
Favourite quote? “It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.” Albus Dumbledore.
Your CAT story? I live with various mental illnesses including PTSD, anxiety and depression. I taught myself to crochet after my son was born and I was suffering with post natal depression. It quickly became an obsession and eventually a life saving tool after my daughter was stillborn. Crochet takes my mind off daily life and past trauma and allows my imagination to take over, while calming the physical symptoms which can be extremely frustrating. I love making things, mostly amigurumi, flowers and blankets, and I love crocheting for a cause, particularly those that help children. I really enjoy connecting with other creative people and the CAT community has been an amazing way to do that at my own pace.
Thank you so much for sharing Kaisha @whimsyhen 😘
