I don’t know about you but I bloody love a bobble hat! And what could be better than a hat with two bobbles?!
I’ve been making and tweaking this pattern over the past three winters and now it’s ready for you to make too!
Materials:
Baby size – 1 ball of super chunky yarn
Child size – 2 balls of super chunky yarn
10mm hook
Pompom maker
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Abbreviations
CH – chain
TC – UK treble crochet
HTC – UK half treble crochet
Special stitches; TC into back loop only throughout. This forms the ribbed pattern and ensures more ‘give’ in the fabric.
Baby Size
1. Form magic ring. Ch2 (does not count as stitch throughout) 8TC into magic ring. End each round by join with SS to beginning TC (8)
2. Working in the round, Ch2, 2TC into each stitch (16)
3. Ch2, *TC, 2TC. Repeat from * around increasing in every other stitch (24)
4. Ch2, TC in each stitch around (24)
5. Ch2, TC in each stitch around (24)
6. Ch1, HTC in each stitch around. Fasten off (24)
Child Size
1. Form magic ring. Ch2 (does not count as stitch throughout) 8TC into magic ring. End each round by join with SS to beginning TC (8)
